Be faithful in the little things and do them well

Luke 16:10a – “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.”

Dr. Bob Jones Sr. said, “It is a good thing to do a little thing well.”

During Christ’s ministry he did many great things such as open deaf ears, cause the blind to see, the lame to walk and the dead to rise. The purpose for these miracles was not only to meet a great need, but to prove that He was indeed the Messiah that had been prophesied to come.

Yet in the midst of the big things, there were some small things He did as well.

He took the time to attend the wedding of Cana in Galilee. He visited the home of Mary and Martha. He gathered up leftovers after the feeding of the 5,000. He folded the napkin after His resurrection, signifying He was not finished.

In the grand scale, just small things. Until we remember that God is a God of certainties and has a purpose for all things. There is no such thing as a small task when such a big God is involved!

If everything, even what we consider the small things, are important, then should we not strive for excellence in the little things?
The Bible teachers us to “do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31) and that whatever we do, we should “do it with thy might” (Ecclesiastes 9:10). It is what we do about the small things that reveal our character and integrity.

Be mindful to do them well.
