A J-BAR PRAYER
Father, we come before you now on bended knee, hoping to honor you with our integrity. Please make our judgement as sound as steel and be our hands upon the wheel. Give us strength and vigilance on our routes and help us to serve others, as You did, Lord, without any doubts. Remind us to be gentle, humble and kind, and help us when we stumble in body and mind. Please shelter our families whilst we are away and bring us safely back to them at the end of this day.
The End
Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
When we read “In the beginning” it is important to understand that it is not as though there were nothing before this moment. God has always been and always will be. This was the beginning of earth, the sun, moon and stars, trees, grass, mountains and seas, animals, insects, and yes, mankind.
In the beginning, God had a blank canvas, a book of empty pages to create all that is, was, and is to come. All of creation was designed by Him very specifically and with purpose so that it all exists and functions to live and thrive. It did not happen by accident.
We are now standing “in the beginning” looking forward to another year of life. Just like 2022, 2023 will present many moments of joy, happiness, sunshine and mountaintops.
It will also give us pain, sorrow, storm clouds, and valleys. One thing we possess being made in the image and likeness of God is the ability to create. We have a unique opportunity ahead. What story will you write in 2023?
What will the canvas of your life this next year be painted as? 2023 will happen no matter what, but will your purpose be to create something wonderful with the gift that has been given us? This time next year, when we look back, let us write “The End” on a story called 2023 with a smile. It starts now with a choice to face it head on, with zeal, with purpose, and determination.
