Join us for the 2nd Annual Holly Jolly J Bar Christmas Light Contest!

We are seeking the most fun, extravagant, and creative Christmas light displays for this contest. We will have more prizes this year too, so even if you think your neighbor’s display is going to take the cake, you probably have a chance to win as well. 

Like last year, we will rely on the community to vote for their favorites, but that is just for one of the prizes. The home with the most votes from online voters who submit their favorite homes while they travel through town admiring all the entries, will take home the People’s Choice award.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will also be awarded, and these winners will be determined by a great group of community members who have graciously accepted our invitation to be on the judging panel! These individuals are associated with the Chambers at Burnet, Bertram, and Marble Falls, and are not affiliated with J Bar, to keep things fair. 

The goal of this contest is to bring back the good ol’ days. Surely you remember them: driving through town with your family piled into the car – or in the bed of the truck for some of you – “Oooh”-ing and “Ahhh”-ing at the sites and sounds of Christmastime as you sip on hot chocolate and listen to Christmas carols. 

For many in these small towns, these memories hold a special place in our hearts. We at J Bar remember those days like they were yesterday and we believe that with the passing of time, our lives get busier by the day and we don’t seem to have enough time to enjoy the little things like that as much as we could. 

So, with the 2nd annual Holly Jolly J Bar Christmas Light Contest, we want to invite everyone – the participants and the community finding their favorites – to step back in time with us just a little bit. We invite everyone to slow down, take in the beautiful scenery that Christmastime provides us, and of course enjoy a little bit of fun competition right along with it! 

To give winners a great assortment of prizes to nicely fight for, we are seeking sponsors in the community who would like to contribute to the prize baskets. You are encouraged to submit an item, gift card, or goody basket of your choice to the different prizes. There is no minimum dollar amount. We are just so happy to bring the whole community together for this family friendly event. To express our appreciation, sponsors will be announced and promoted throughout the contest on social media, various ads, and our website. Our first thank you goes out to the wonderful judges who have agreed to be a part of this event. Thank you to Katy Duke of the Bertram Chamber of Commerce, Katie Savage of the Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce, and Sherri Wisener from the Burnet Chamber of Commerce, for stepping in to help us spread Christmas cheer and get everyone together for a little competition! We can’t wait to shine the spotlight on the other businesses, organizations, and individuals in our great communities who help contribute to the prizes throughout the contest. We look forward to working with you!

We are super excited to announce that this year’s winners will be announced at our facility on Monday, December 19 after the 2 voting weekends wrap up. The finalists will be invited to a little get together at our main office at 2105 S. Water Street in Burnet, for Christmas refreshments like cookies and hot chocolate, where they can spend time with family and friends while they wait to hear who takes home the prize!

As many of you know, one of J Bar’s core values is Family. This is the perfect opportunity to bring your family together, and invite your neighbors and friends to join in on the festivities so they can enjoy the fun right along with you.
