The J Bar Difference Series | Christian foundation provides support for our staff, work environment, and mission

The J Bar Difference Series

Series note:

To provide some background information about our company and the great people who make up the J Bar team, we are outlining every aspect of J Bar Enterprises in the “J Bar Difference” series. This 10-part series will describe what sets us apart from others in the industry and give you insight into the workings of our company and the thoughts and processes of our employees.

With weekly articles and podcast episodes regarding a particular topic, we hope to inspire new visitors to explore the services we have to offer. If you already utilize our services, we hope this opens the door to things you may not have known about J Bar and encourages you to learn more. Whether you are just stopping by or interested in beginning services, let this series help you discover the J Bar Difference.

J Bar’s Christian foundation provides support for our staff, work environment, and mission.

It is a well-known fact that J Bar is a Christian company. While not every one of our employees may be religious, they are all welcomed into the family from day one and supported and encouraged to be the best they can be. We have a very diverse crew of different backgrounds and levels of spirituality, but one common goal we all share is to serve our community and display J Bar’s core values in the tasks we perform every day.

No matter what position we hold here at J Bar, we work to support the company’s mission to serve our employees, customers, and the community by living out the example that Jesus set when he washed the feet of those around him. Every day our drivers, mechanics, yard crew, and office staff set an example for their peers and the customers we serve.

Two of the core values we abide by at J Bar are Excellence in the Ordinary and Servanthood. Those values closely tie in with our mission statement in many ways. We see ourselves as servants to those who trust us to provide sanitary services, but we also strive to be servants to our community. We encourage our drivers to show excellence in the ordinary in every task they perform and are always looking for ways to improve our services to serve you better.

Serving the community became even more important when the Covid-19 pandemic hit our area, and restrictions were placed on everything we encountered in this business. While we faced the unknown regarding whether we would be able to continue servicing construction sites and special events, you were unsure whether you would be able to continue working as well.

As we found ways to keep providing sanitary services, we were determined to help you continue gathering with family, friends, and neighbors. Thankfully, you stuck with us through that difficult time, and while things still aren’t the way they used to be, we are happy to be able to provide services for you and continue working with our mission and vision in mind.

The difference between J Bar and other places of employment is the family-like atmosphere that we are blessed to have. Whether it be from leadership holding the team accountable or the individual employees coming in to work ready to make a difference, we all play a part in that positive environment.

J Bar’s mission and goals are based on Ephesians 6:7: “Serve your employers wholeheartedly and with love, as though you were serving Christ and not men.” If you listened to our podcast episode about J Bar’s ministry, you would know that the company was given to the Lord a few years ago. We rest in knowing that the Lord is helping us serve others as we serve Him. He has blessed us with the resources, opportunities, and people to continue serving – all of these include – and would be impossible without – you, our wonderful customers!

While this blog post sort of piggy-backed off of our post about the work environment, the podcast episode corresponding to this article features another beloved member of our team – Roll Off Driver (and man of many hats), Jerry White. Please take a moment to listen to Jerry’s episode here to learn about one of our employees and his take on what it means to work at J Bar.

Savanna Gregg

My name is Savanna Gregg, and I have been blessed with the task of writing blog posts for J Bar! I’ve grown my love for writing since I was a kid, inspired by my grandpa and great-grandma, and encouraged by my family to follow this passion wherever it leads me. I found a love for journalism in high school and participated in UIL competitions throughout that time. I was able to expand that experience into a career, working for the Burnet Bulletin Newspaper for just over two years before finding a new opportunity here at J Bar. I’ve always loved spreading the news to my community through social media, and am so glad to have been given the opportunity to continue that while providing services for our customers at the same time. I hope you enjoy learning more about our company!
