National Safety Month | Core Values & J Bar’s Processes

June is National Safety Month, and at J Bar Enterprises, we’re committed to making safety a top priority for everyone, everywhere. As a leading portable sanitation company, we believe that safety starts with each of us at work and home, and extends to our communities. Each week we will introduce a safety procedure or a bit of knowledge about safety, and explain how it correlates with one of our core values.

We will cover processes and procedures we follow here at our facility, as well as global safety measures you can take to support those around you. Be sure to follow along with this journey and keep an eye out for blog posts, videos, and a podcast episode with our Safety & Training Steward, who has decades of experience in the field!

At J Bar, our core values of Family and Self-Employed Mentality guide everything we do. These values are not just words on a page; they are principles that shape our daily actions, influence our professional conduct, and impact our personal growth. By embracing these values, we strive to provide exceptional service while ensuring the safety and well-being of our team, our customers, and ultimately our communities.

Family: The Heart of Our Operations

Family is at the core of J Bar Enterprises. We believe that treating each other like family creates a supportive and caring work environment. This value extends to our customers, as we aim to serve them with the same dedication and respect we give our own families.

From Our Family to Yours: Our commitment to family means that we prioritize safety and quality in every aspect of our work. This dedication is evident in the meticulous processes we follow, ensuring that our services are not only efficient but also safe for everyone involved.

Self-Employed Mentality: Taking Ownership of Our Roles

The Self-Employed Mentality is about taking personal responsibility and pride in our work. At J Bar, we view our positions not as jobs, but as careers and learning experiences. This mindset drives us to develop professionally and personally, striving for excellence in all that we do.

Learning and Growing: Every task, no matter how monotonous some of them may seem, is an opportunity for growth. Whether it’s using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while servicing our sanitary restrooms or wearing the proper footwear to protect ourselves, these actions reflect our commitment to professionalism and safety.

While some tasks may seem routine, they are crucial to maintaining high standards of safety and service. Adhering to established processes and procedures ensures that we deliver consistent, high-quality service. This includes regular maintenance checks, thorough cleaning protocols, and detailed reporting.

Consistency in following procedures guarantees that our services are reliable and meet the highest standards. It reflects our dedication to professionalism and excellence. Here’s how our values come into play:

  • Using PPE While Servicing Sanitary Restrooms

Wearing PPE is non-negotiable at J Bar. This includes gloves, masks, and protective clothing to ensure the safety of our team members and customers. PPE protects us from potential hazards and ensures that we can perform our duties without compromising our health, and is especially crucial in the portable sanitation industry. It’s a simple step that has a significant impact on overall safety.

  • Wearing Proper Footwear

The right footwear is essential for protecting our feet from injuries on the job. This is particularly important when working on job sites or at events where there may be sharp objects or uneven terrain. Proper footwear prevents accidents and injuries, allowing us to work more efficiently and safely.

  • Wearing Vests and Hard Hats on Job Sites

Safety vests and hard hats are mandatory on some job sites to ensure visibility and protect against potential head injuries. These safety measures are critical in preventing accidents and ensuring that everyone on the job site is visible and protected. It’s about safeguarding our team and ensuring a safe work environment.

At J Bar Enterprises, we take sanitation seriously. Our 10-step sanitary restroom cleaning process ensures that our units are safe, clean, and comfortable for all users. These tasks are performed to ensure people have a safe and sanitary place to use the restroom, reducing the likelihood of bringing home germs and sickness after a workday. Our rigorous cleaning standards reflect our commitment to the health and safety of our customers. Some of the steps include:

  • Power wash: We perform a thorough power wash of the entire unit to remove any dirt and grime.
  • Scrubbing: We meticulously scrub off any graffiti and scum from all surfaces, ensuring a spotless environment.
  • Disinfection: We finish with an all-around spray of hospital-grade disinfectant that kills bacteria on contact and continues to protect surfaces for up to 10 days.

At J Bar Enterprises, we do these things because they are essential to our mission of providing top-notch service. Our commitment to family and a self-employed mentality means that we take our responsibilities seriously, always striving to improve and excel.

We hope that by sharing our values, we can inspire our customers and community to embrace these principles in their own lives. Safety, responsibility, and dedication are not just part of our job; they are values we live by and pass on to those around us.

Thank you for being part of the J Bar family. Together, we can create a safer, more caring community for everyone.

Savanna Gregg

My name is Savanna Gregg, and I have been blessed with the task of writing blog posts for J Bar! I’ve grown my love for writing since I was a kid, inspired by my grandpa and great-grandma, and encouraged by my family to follow this passion wherever it leads me. I found a love for journalism in high school and participated in UIL competitions throughout that time. I was able to expand that experience into a career, working for the Burnet Bulletin Newspaper for just over two years before finding a new opportunity here at J Bar. I’ve always loved spreading the news to my community through social media, and am so glad to have been given the opportunity to continue that while providing services for our customers at the same time. I hope you enjoy learning more about our company!
